"Compatibility of Faith and Science"It's good to see a blogger who's done his research, and is willing to accept counter-cultural ideas about science and religion.
Christopher's Apologies (August 3, 2010)
"After reading the article, Science Turns Authoritarian, I was led to reflect on the relationship between faith and science. One would think, judging by the amount of materials that have appeared in recent years that this was a new debate; however, nothing could be further from the truth. I'm really interested in how these two subjects, faith and science, interact with each other because I, along with Kenneth Green in the article above, see the scientific community as overstating its position and unfortunately our nation's youth is being given an unfair representation of what exactly science can provide.
"Although scholars and authors (these are not always the same people) will have varying opinions on the relationship between faith and science, almost all of them, at some point, make some reference to Galileo and the Catholic Church...."
Me? One reason I converted to Catholicism is that as a Catholic I don't have to shut down my forebrain to follow my faith.
