"Lake Democratic Party head removes Obama flag veterans termed 'desecration' "
Ludmilla Lelis, Orlando Sentinel (March 13, 2012)
"A group of veterans descended on Lake County Democratic Party headquarters this afternoon with the intention of removing a flag depicting an image of President Barack Obama where the stars would be located....
"...But a confrontation was averted when Lake Democratic chairwoman Nancy Hurlbert agreed to voluntarily remove the flag...."
What Were They Thinking?
I'm not sure what to make of that flag. I do think it's noteworthy that the United States of Obama flag was placed under the more conventional American flag. Maybe placing the President's visage on the flag is a sort of hyperactive self-esteem. Or something.Whatever the Lake County Democratic Party headquarters in Tavares folks had in mind: they got quite a bit of free publicity for their candidate. Whether, in the long run, it was prudent to make their devotion to America's leader quite so obvious? That's a good question. We'll have part of the answer after the November election.
Then there was what Evan Thomas said about the President: and I hope that's another topic.
A tip of the hat to Thomas Pringle, on Twitter, for the heads-up on the Orlando Sentinel article and photo.
