I don't plan anything special. At least, not holiday-related. That's partly because I either don't have a real job - or am self-employed. I prefer the latter description. I still do a little work for my former employer: I was in for a few hours this week, working on a technical issue they've got with a website.
I don't have much to say about Labor Day, but the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has, at least as far back as 1986. ("Labor Day Statements," Justice, Peace and Human Development, USCCB) They've also posted this prayer:
- "Prayer for Work"
(From Being Neighbor: The Catechism and Social Justice, USCCB, April 1998)
I hope to be back before folks start driving out to lake country for that last big weekend.
